Scientific Research Ethics Committee
The Scientific Research Ethics Committee at the Institute is an independent committee that seeks to protect the Institute’s scientific research practices and follow up on research activities to ensure objective scientific research characterized by transparency and the protection of the rights of researchers, participants and targets of research activities. Its decisions or rulings are not subject to any political, institutional, professional or commercial standards or biases.
The purpose of establishing the committee
- Activating scientific research ethics in all scientific research and university theses in the field of agricultural sciences in order to provide a safe and healthy agricultural product.
- Sending guidance and informational messages periodically through the International Information Network, which allows researchers to continuously review and follow up on new information related to the ethics and literature of scientific research within the framework of serving the beneficiaries of ongoing research applications in the field of administrative sciences and computers.
- Evaluating the educational and training aspects of those responsible for reviewing the ethical aspects of research applications in the field of agricultural sciences.
- Organizing periodic workshops to inform faculty members of developments in the field of scientific research ethics.
The regulations of the Scientific Research Ethics Committee include a focus on the following aspects:
- Formation of the committee by decision of the Institute Council.
- The committee holds monthly or semi-monthly sessions depending on what is required by the volume of research work or its developments.
- The formation of the committee takes into account the representation of research fields, especially applied ones, with reconsideration. It will be formed periodically to include successive generations of faculty members at the institute, with the possibility of seeking help from some expertise from those working in the field of agricultural production in research centers, agricultural experiment stations, or agricultural production centers that serve the environment and society.
- It is stipulated that the formation of the committee does not include members who hold administrative positions. Or a leader at the level of scientific departments or the institute’s administration, in order to maintain its independence, by taking measures related to the ethics of scientific research.

Researchers submit their submission to the Scientific Research Ethics Committee
In the event that a research activity is registered or approved, the (researcher/s) takes the following steps:
- Fill out Form 1 (Ethics) in the event of registering the research activity.
- Fill out Form 2 (Ethics) in the event of approving the outcomes of the research activity.
- Submitting the research protocol or research project for internal or external funding.
- The researcher(s) receives a written decision from the committee, which may accept, amend, or reject it within two weeks at most after its approval by the Institute Council.
- The (researcher/researchers) has the right to appeal the committee’s decision and present his point of view, provided that the committee issues a binding decision within one week of the (researcher/researchers’) discussion.
