students Union

  • The Student Union is the legal representative through which students practice their various activities.
  • The union is made up of the institute's regular students enrolled to obtain a bachelor's degree and paying tuition fees.
  • International students who pay union fees have the right to practice aspects of the union’s activities without having the right to vote or be nominated.

The Institute’s Union Council is responsible for the following:

  • Drawing up the union’s policy in light of the programs presented by the committees.
  • Approving the work programs of the Federation Council committees and following up on their implementation.
  • Distributing financial appropriations to the committees and setting the annual budget for the Council and its committees.
  • Approval of the Union’s final accounts.
  • Coordinating work between Federation Council committees.
  • Working to strengthen relations with student unions in other colleges.
  • Electing a Secretary and Assistant Secretary of the Union Council from among its student members.

The Institute’s Student Union Council is formed annually as follows:

  • Leadership of the Dean of the Institute (or his representative among the faculty members).
  • Leaders of the Union Council committees are faculty members.
  • Student assistant secretaries of the Union Council committees.
  • The students elect council members, including a secretary and assistant secretary of the council.
  • The head of the technical staff for youth care at the institute attends the council meetings and is the treasurer.
  • The Dean of the Institute appoints a certified public accountant to review the final account of the Institute Union.

Student Union Committees

Families Committee: It works to establish families in the institute, support its activities and coordinate between them.

Sports Activity Committee: It works to form sports teams at the institute and hold matches and competitions.

Cultural Activity Committee: It works to organize aspects of cultural activities and develop the literary and cultural energies of students.

Technical Activity Committee: It works to develop students' artistic activity and provide the opportunity to highlight their talents.

Mobile and Public Service Committee: It works to organize the scouting and guidance movement and also works to implement environmental service programs approved by the Institute Council and the departments.

Social Activity and Trips Committee: It works to develop social ties between students, faculty members and employees of the institute. It also organizes social and cultural trips and camps.

Each of the Federation's committees is formed annually:

  • Led by a major faculty member (his appointment shall be issued by a decision of the Dean of the Institute)
  • The membership of two students from each semeste is elected annually by students of their team with secret voting.
  • The students elect the members of each committee, including an assistant secretary.
  • The committee meetings are attended by a representative of the technical staff for youth care at the institute.

Student Union elections

  • Union councils and committees are elected no later than the end of November each year, and a decision is issued by the Dean of the Institute setting the detailed dates for the elections for the different levels. No student has the right to cast his vote unless he is registered in the student voter lists and carries proof of identity.
  • For the validity of elections in college student union committees, at least 50% of the students who have the right to vote must be present.
  • If the number is not complete, the elections shall be postponed to another date within a maximum of three days. In this case, the attendance of at least 20% of voters is required for the election to be valid.
  • If the number is not complete this time, all students from the teams whose number of voters is not complete must be represented.
  • If it is not possible to form the Institute’s Student Union Council for the previous reason, the Dean of the Institute shall appoint a council to manage the union’s affairs that includes members of students who excel in study and in the union’s activity and who meet the nomination conditions. The pioneer and secretary of this council shall have all other membership rights in the Institute’s Student Activities Coordination Council.
  • The leader of the Federation Council or its committee is responsible for preparing the agenda, calling for meetings, managing the session, and following up on the implementation of decisions.
  • He communicates the decisions to the Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and the Dean of the Institute, as the case may be, as soon as they are issued.

Whoever applies for nomination for membership in Federation Council committees must:

  • He must have the nationality of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
  • He must be characterized by good morals and good reputation.
  • He must be a new regular student in his group who cannot be repeated for any reason.
  • He must be highly active in the field of work of the committee in which he nominates himself.
